Info for Athletes

Ozark Juniors is proud to announce our partnership with Scout Scholar! We are so excited to offer our athletes a recruiting platform to explore every college program in the nation as part of your membership with Ozark Juniors. We will be utilizing this software with our staff and athletes to streamline the process and ensure we are on the same page when it comes to your athletes' recruiting journey. Information for athletes and parents

This page is designed to be a resource for Players and their families as they go through the recruiting process. Please email any questions to Recruiting Coordinator, Jenny Lingenfelter at jenny@ozarkjuniors.com or Angie Baker at angie@ozarkjuniors.com.

STEPS TO THE RECRUITING PROCESS:
1. Determine the schools you would have an interest in by your academic interest, location and corresponding playing level.
- 5-10 schools that you would love to attend (Dream schools)
- 10-15  schools that you would have an interest in
- 5-10  schools that you would attend

2. Do your research and gather contact information
- Make a spreadsheet with school name, information, website, coaches name, coaches email. It is a good idea to get the assistant coaches email as well.

3. Create a recruiting profile.
- Many recruiting platforms to choose from.  University Athlete, Sports Recruits, Field Level, NCSA are just a few.

4. Send an introductory email to your list of schools.
- Include your name, height, position, grad year, high school and club. Be sure to express interest in their school and volleyball program. Address the coach by name to start the email (ex. Coach Lindstrom). Include a link to your profile.

5. Make a Skills Video and gather Game Footage
Skills Video - Hudl is a perfect resource for this.
Game Footage – should be one entire game (you can edit out dead time, i.e walking back to serve, etc…) of you playing. Be sure to let the coaches know which number you are and in what position you start in.

6. Send your Video to those coaches that request it and/or to your list of schools
- You can upload the video to our website and/or to YouTube.

7. Schedule visits
- After college coaches evaluate you and you are in their TOP group of players that they are recruiting in your position & class then they will invite you for a VISIT!

Official Visit - College can pay for transportation to and from the college for the student-athlete, lodging and three meals per day for the student-athlete and his or her parents or guardians, as well as reasonable entertainment expenses including three tickets to a home sports event.

Unofficial Visit - Athlete/Family pays for all expenses

8. Consistently check in with coaches
- If a school expresses interest, continually check in with them with updates on your schedule and/or team. Building a relationship with the coaches is a key to success!

9. Register with the NCAA or NAIA Eligibility Center

10.  Offers/Decisions
-Coaches can begin extending verbal offers on June 15th of Sophomore Year
- Every coach & program do things differently but they should communicate the details of their offer and a timeline (if any) to make a decision
- After making a decision, be sure to contact all of the coaches/programs that were actively recruiting you to let them know of your decision BEFORE posting your commitment on Social Media!
